Education:
I graudated from the University of Leeds Graphic and Communication Design BA Hons course (in which I received a first class honours degree) in 2022. My academic work throughout the three years was largely influenced by my passions for sustainability and storytelling.
My 12k word dissertation which received a First examined the role of graphic props in film. It focussed on the works of auteur Wes Anderson and key scenes in his films in which graphic design played a vital role.
Career:
In January of 2023, I started at The Smarty Train, a Early Careers Consultancy. As Creative Executive, I visually bring TST’s written content to life, overseeing end-to-end design process from concept to delivery. Attaining fluency in diverse brand guidelines, I liaise with client and internal stakeholders to ensure high standards and visual requirements are met. I work across a wide variety of both digital and printed materials - I’ve designed a wide range of deliverable types from 6-foot long company timelines to waterbottle stickers, 3-D Mountain Scape conference stands to engaging brand decks. It varies everyday! Though I take particular pride in my presentation designs which combine creativity, storytelling, and technical skill to deliver engaging and memorable experiences.
Throughout my time at the company, I have ‘exceeded the expectations’ set in place for me showcasing a foundational understanding of creative design and how it underlies, supports, and grows our business.
My experiences manifests in extensive designs, which I am unable to share, for some of the largest graduate employers in the UK & US spanning across healthcare, banking, law and accounting services. More than 85% of my work exists without legal permission to include in this portfolio, I respect all rights to privacy and diligently work to protect all client assets.
We were recently semi-finalists for an award from the Institute of Student Employers for our work with Clifford Chance on which I was the Creative Lead. This experience allows me to view projects from a business driven lens as I work to strict budget controlled timelines. My work is largely confidential but where possible, I repost content on LinkedIn featuring my work.
Extra Curricular:
Alongside my career and extra curricular activities, I continued to extend my knowledge in subjects beyond my day-to-day work; partaking in online courses hosted by FutureLearn, Coursera, and Linkedin Learning.
